Net metering in New Brunswick: what homeowners should watch
·Rudi Fowler
Net-metering rules affect how a grid-tied solar system is sized and how exported energy is valued. They can also change, so a decision should be based on the current published rules rather than an old social post or sales deadline.
Start with the current status
The net-metering guide explains the current program and clearly labels proposed changes as proposals. Before acting, verify the latest status with NB Power and the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board.

I have also published a long-form conversation with NB Power leadership about net metering. Watch the full conversation on YouTube.
What I would do for a real home
I would model the system against the home’s annual usage, daytime consumption, roof, and current utility rules. I would not create false urgency. If you want that analysis for your property, send me your latest power bill and address.
